Local man spat at not 1 but 2 women - Woodlands Bus interchange

Came across this video of a local Singaporean guy spitting at not 1 but 2 women.



Some background prior to this video recording.

According to the video owner, the lady in blue was queuing up for Bus number 950 at Woodlands Bus Interchange. Suddenly, there is this man who suddenly cut her queue, feeling annoyed, she asked him to queue up at the back instead.

However, this man claimed that he was in the queue earlier. But he went off to buy a drink at the shop nearby and came back. Although he claims that he was in the queue, there were no alibi. Hence when the bus came, everyone in the queue went up the bus, this guy rudely spat at the lady in blue lady multiple times before he went up the bus.

As the bus was full, everyone murmured to him to get down. He then pushed the lady in blue down the bus and spat at her more than 10 times. This lady then proceeded to call for help from the SMRT crew. This rude man was still hogging on to the bus by refusing to alight, he then blamed the driver for not starting the bus. I guess he was waiting for the guy to either alight or for the police to arrive.

Meanwhile SMRT control room informed that there will be a second bus and now 2-3 SMRT staff + driver at scene but didn't do much. This rude man was still insistent that it was the drivers fault. The passengers on the 1st bus were screaming and shouting at this rude guy for being inconsiderate. There was this old man on the bus who almost got punched for telling him off. This rude man continued to fight back verbally with the entire bus load of passengers and also pushing his way through.

The second bus came and the driver opens the back door of the 1st bus for passengers to alights. Then this rude guy rushed to the back of the bus and tried to stop the passengers from alighting. However his efforts was in vain as there were lots of people pushing him aside.

This green lady in the video was unlucky one, who was stopped by him. He claimed she scolded him on the bus earlier and that is none of her business. He then grabs her by the hand, refusing to let her board the second bus, then proceeded to spat at her multiple times. When he pushed her, she shouted molest. That was when this guy denied. He went on to spat at her for more than 10 times again.

After doing so, he tried to escape from the scene and board the second bus, but the passengers on board the 2nd bus stopped him.

In my view, yes we could all be pissed off at various times, especially if there were calling of names, or mockery that is offending. Words might even come out of our mouth that will cause us to have regrets for the aftermath.

However, to spit at someone? Come on, is this a soccer game? Or do this guy thinks the girl's face is some basin in some toilet? Even in any soccer game, if you spat at your opponent, you might just face disciplinary actions from your club and the football association.

Totally unacceptable behavior. Show this to anyone around the world, they will not accept his behavior. I doubt the local police will charge him for any criminal offence though. At most maybe the lady can sue him for civil offences. But at the end of the day, this guy should have controlled himself. If he can't get on the 1st bus, queue up for the 2nd bus. If you can't get on, keep waiting. We have seen someone posted that he had waited for 13 buses before he can board the 14th bus right? If you had left your queue, there is no such rule that you can re-join the queue unless if your loved ones are there.

In summary, we should not condone such rude behavior in our society. If you are reading this and you happened to know this man, please let him know one day if someone were to spit at him, he won't be happy too.

Our friend, she made reservations to sit inside in the air-condition. We went there last month. When Baby and I reached there first, we noticed that they had some queue no. machine just like the one at GRUB, Bishan Park. But there was no need for it, so we went in and we were letting them know that we're here. Apparently someone bypass the queue machine came in and sat down at our table. How can you not see the machine, it's by the door before you step into the restaurant. Lol!

Advice: If you want to eat at Symmetry, it is best to have a reservation as the waiting time to get a table would be a long time.

Service? I would say it was terrible.

I had ordered a Sanpellegrino - Aranciata Rossa (meaning: blood orange) for my drink and the bad thing is they ran out of it and didn't even bothered letting me know that they didn't have it. Until after we kept asking them when is the drink coming, then only then they said it's out of stock. Oh wow right! Bad customer service, so I ordered something close to my Aranciata Rossa.

When my drink arrived at our table, it came in like some canister like mug with a metal straw!

The Potato Fries were awesome they're actually Truffle Fries with Truffle Mayo. Oh I would just go back for it again! I had order an Eggs Benedict, our friend XW had the Salmon Croissant and I think Baby had ordered a Big Breakfast!

Couldn't try the desserts there as we were so full from Brunch.

I'll definitely go back to have the food! I hope service will not be as bad as last time.

The sin of the cowardly

I was browsing through Facebook and came across a sick picture of 2 guys with a trapped kitten.

My 1st reaction was WHAT THE ****!!!!!!!!!

My apology for my choice of words. But that was how I felt exactly.

How would someone of a sane mind treat this as a joke? It's not even funny. The poor kitten would be so afraid by the time it was placed within the container. Can you imagine being placed under captive in a box that hardly gives you any room to breathe, let alone move. Moreover, you can't escape on your own. That should be how the poor kitten felt at that point of time.

We didn't know what happened to the poor kitten.

What we have is this picture and 2 abusers posing happily as if they had killed a tiger. The authorities would not be able to track them down just by a photo, or rather I think they don't have much power to do so?

Just when I thought that's all, i came across an even more heart-breaking article of these group of kittens being killed by mystery sicko, perverts.

In the below photos, you can see from the mama cat that she was shocked and depressed by what she just witnessed. She looks like she's trying to wake them up. Those kittens were probably just playing nearby when they met their cold blooded murderer. Can you picture this? You were out shopping for maybe 20 mins, leaving your kids at home for awhile. Only to return with cold bodies lying all over.

My questions to the authorities

1)If these murderers goes scott-free and continue doing their regular torture/murder of poor helpless kittens, will they resort to killing human beings once they are sick of killing small animals?

2)If (1) is right, shouldn't the authorities get hold on them before they get out of hand?

3)If they are caught by any chance, will they be sentence to jail or will they be accessed by the institute of mental health?

My questions to the murderers/torturers

1)If you think doing these acts makes you a hero, why don't you try killing a tiger or catch a pirana?

2)If you would like to see your loved ones being tortured or killed just like the way you did to the poor animals?

3)If the above answers were no, i hope you stop this sick acts.

There is a great saying that what goes around, eventually comes around. We have our fair share of so called karma. We have all sinned, but if killing and torturing these animals makes you happier, i strongly advise you to seek professional help.

God bless the living and RIP to the poor kittens who passed on.

Saluting the true superheros in our society

Have you thrown your tantrum when you can't hear what aging parents were saying? How about being pissed with being blocked by a standing music fan in a concert?

What if one day you wake up from your sleep, your world turned into a state of pitch-darkness? What if you had involved in an accident and lost your limbs? (choi, touch wood). Would you blame the whole world about your calamity? Or will you do something about it and be an inspiration to others?

I was watching a documentary show about the disabled in Singapore and it had once again touched me deeply. 

Somethings we had been taking for granted day in day out may not be easily accessed by a minority of the population in this part of the world.

Yes, today's post will be about our superheros in our society - The physically disabled group.

What touches me most are probably the determination behind these group of superheros.

Take a local inspiration, Dr Yeo Sze Ling, as an example. She contracted glaucoma when she was only 4. Her nerves were damaged and as a result, she had lost most of her sight.

Not giving up in life, she studied even harder and was given a scholarship from National University of Singapore(NUS). She went on to graduate from NUS with excellent results. She proceeded to take her Master and eventually got her PHD that was funded by A*STAR graduate scholarship.

So where is she now? She is currently working as a researcher at A*STAR. 

Wow, what an extreme success that is! She had done what most of us could not achieved. As such, she was named in the National Day Rally by our Prime Minister. She is indeed a superhero in her own ways. She had conquered her disability and also did the impossible. 

All those would not have been a success if not for her hard-work and determination. So, for the rest of the students reading this blog, there is no shortcut to success, hence start working hard.

The next hero that I will be introducing is no stranger to you. He is Nick Vujicic. You may not have listened to his inspiring talks, but I am sure you have heard this name or maybe have browsed through his book, "life without limits"

I had the privilege of attending one of his talks and i was greatly moved by him. Unlike Dr Yeo, Nick was born without any limbs. The only limb he has is his little leg which has 2 toes. He introduced his left leg as the "drumstick". Mind you, his "drumstick" is fast as lightning. There was this part where he invited someone up the stage and challenged him to answer some questions. The catch is, the person who buzzes in 1st will have the 1st say. To our surprise, he had aced every single questions by buzzing in 1st. He went on to give encouragement to the guy, saying it's not because he is slow, just that he had the opportunity to practice for a longer time.   

He went on to talk about his life experience which left the audience with buckets of tears. He mentioned that there was a period of time that his peers were making fun of him, he wasn't angry with them, as he understood they needed more help than him. That's true, i wonder if his peers made it big and as famous as him now? 

Not too long ago, Nick was happily married and his wife gave birth to a healthy son. 

When he 1st posted his photo of his son, many crude comments rushed into his facebook page. However the majority of the netizen uphold justice and the critics left shortly. 

I have learnt much from him. It's not about what you don't have that you need to worry about, but not using what you already have. God is fair, he gave everyone equal talents and gifts. What you doesn't practice will eventually be taken away from you. 

You may think you are already quite perfect, lacking nothing, that's good. However, can you do more for the society today? 

In my previous few posts on individuals in the featured section of my shared blog, they have a common goal. That is to be bringing an impact to the people around them. 

Everyone of us does have some stories to tell. Some is happy, some is sad. Let us turn whatever that is negative and turn it into a positive. 

Even when bad things happen to good people, you can be assured it is for a good reason in the end.

Farewell my friend - Adrian Dhanaraj, Singapore ex international soccer player

Received a news that one of my secondary school classmate, Mr Adrian Dhanaraj had passed away last night.

Adrian was only 29 when he left us.

A recap of his soccer career

in 2002/2003, he 1st got into the Young Lions team and he was a regular player for the 1st team. He went on to represent a string of other clubs including SAFFC, Geylang United and Gombak United.

He had also earned 2 caps for Singapore.

Adrian was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. He had fought a good fight against the cancer, it is indeed Singapore's loss that a talented footballer had left us.

Back in school, he was always the soccer captain, deciding who to play and who should be benched. He's always cracking jokes on the side but when it comes to playing football, he is just amazing. He can dribble the ball pass 5 players and get the ball to the back of the net. It is no surprise that he eventually played football full-time.

Was also glad to see him commentating on the Lion City Cup and offered his views on EPL news as a football pundit organised by MioTv.

Rest in Peace my friend.

Everyone who knows you will know you had been a warrior all your life.

His wake will be held at the Singapore Casket, level 5 from 2pm onwards today, with the funeral scheduled for tomorrow.

Featured - Interview with the teacher and cosplayer Part 2

Previously, we share on Peijing, the cosplayer, today we will introduce Zheng Guo, Peijing's husband, an awesome teacher, mentor =)

Witcast would also take this chance to wish Zheng Guo a happy birthday!!

Witcast: Share with us, whats your motivation to be a teacher? Is this a childhood dream?

ZG:It was not a childhood dream per se. But I remember when I was in my secondary 3 and 4, I had this form teacher who really cared for the class and really stuck with the class. I will never forget how in her own discomfort, and in the face of 40 frightened youths, she climbed on the high beams of the obstacle course in punggol outdoor camp, and perform the tasks, despite her having a fear of heights.

I was deeply moved by her dedication to stay connected with my class and her passion for the the subject (she was teaching history =o). And that was what ultimately got me to start considering teaching because I wanted to impact and change lives as much as my previous teachers did.

Witcast: What do you expect of your students? How do you connect with them?

ZG: I expect my students to understand their boundaries, and that sometimes no means no. I expect them to know when to do what. I believe these are important values that they need to learn in important social and emotional formation years of their live. Never mind if they do not perform academically, but the most important thing is that they have the skills to ultimately become a person that they are proud in the 20-30 years to come.

I connect with them by being true, and never hiding anything. Inside the classroom, they are my students, but they can be my friends when they out of the classroom. But over and beyond all this, I believe students truly respect a teacher that is understanding, but never compromising in their character. Therefore, I believe in going the extra mile, and constantly finding a need in students' life and trying to meet it if I can.

Witcast: Parents - Are they a pain or gain?

ZG: If we can win them to our side, they are definitely a gain. All parents want to see their children excel. As long as we can show them that what we do is for the good of their children, they will turn around to our side and support our course. While there is no reason for us to override the parents' wishes of their child, but there should be no reason for us to be allowed to be abused by them.

Witcast: What does it take for a teacher to succeed in their classes or even their expectations for their students?

ZG: Preparation. We must never under prepare for a lesson. If we want a lesson to work, we must research, and prepare such that we can cope with any situation that props up. And when we are very familiar with our material, we can then tailor it to suit the different needs of the students and the environment.

An uncompromising attitude is one the ensure students meeting our expectations. We must stay firm and strong on what we said. For example, when we say we want an assignment to be handed in by a certain date, we abide by that, and mercilessly (yes mercilessly) mete the appropriate consequence to the students. This would make students understand the results of their actions and at the same they will try their best to meet our expectations. I do not expect my students to perfectly meet them, but I expect my students to try their best.

Witcast: Where do you see yourself in a couple of years?

ZG: I see myself as a more skilful and a competent teacher.

Witcast: What makes you want to teach and keep teaching?

ZG: I will never forget how it feels like when I walk out of a lesson at the beginning of my teaching career. I was trying out something new on my students and the lesson went really well, the students enjoyed the lesson. but what really touched me was the fact that they actually learn something that day and it showed in their assessment.

Their joy they found in learning that they have learned something new is what makes me want to teach and is what that will keep me going.

Witcast: What if one day you realised you have nothing to teach?

Find something new to teach. There is always something that these students don't know. Even until today, there are things that I don't know. While I live, I learn.

Witcast: Is being a teacher tougher than being a learner

ZG: When you are a teacher, you are responsible for a class of 40 people's learning. But when you are learner, you are responsible for your own learning, which will ultimately impact your class of 40.

Witcast: What is your definition of a mentor vs a teacher? So which one are you?

ZG: A teacher makes use of every opportunity to impact lives. A mentor deals with you personally and making sure your development as a person is holistic.

I see myself as both. Because of obvious reason I cannot be a mentor to everyone. But I am a teacher to all, a mentor to some.

Witcast: What if you have students who gave up on studies or students who thinks that they are smarter than you?

ZG: Its not a what if. Its an I HAVE.

There must a reason why certain students give up on studying. Which means we need to find out why and try to answer those questions and solve those problems.

It is never a wise choice to try to outsmart the students. If they think they are smarter than you, leverage on that ego, and get them to solve problems that are bigger than them for you. They will then realise their limitations and will come around.

Witcast: Do you interfere with your student's personal life?

ZG: NO.

Witcast: What is your message to aspiring teachers?

ZG: Teaching is a calling. Its is a responsibility. But there is nothing that can beat a smile on your student after they have discovered the joy of learning.

Featured - An Interview with the Teacher and the cosplay-er- Part 1

It's been a long break since i have an interview or recommending anything on Witcast. Today, let me introduce to you a very interesting couple which i personally known since years ago.

Ehh, so what's the link between the cosplay-er and the teacher huh? Well, they are a couple! Both are spreading their influence in different areas. Maybe the following interview might gives you a better idea.

In this 1st part of the interview, we will 1st feature Peijing, the cosplay-er (ladies 1st right?)

Lets rock and roll!

Witcast: Whats your full time job?

PJ: I am a Pharmacist working in KK Women’s & Children’s hospital.

Witcast: What motivated you to start cosplay?

PJ: FUN!

Haha, I was in NUS Comic and animation society and I see the friends around me dressing up as their favourite characters and they looked like they are having so much fun! So I decided to join them. I have always loved all things Japanese, so I took up Japanese and learnt Manga. Cosplay was just another branched extension of that love.

It is my dream to one day cosplay Sailor moon, in 2012, I did it.

Witcast: Share with us your concept on the characters you play and the creativity of making their costumes.

PJ: One, I believe in not spending too much money, it’s a hobby, so spend within your means. Second, a true cosplayer should strive to do everything by him/herself.

Concept wise, I interpret the question as how the characters will be portrayed, the character itself must be someone I can look up to and respect, and look physically similar enough to pull off. If I am a 100kg man I will not try to dress up as Sailormoon. Lolz.

The making is the fun part, so enjoy it. I will print out a reference picture the character and reconcile across the anime/manga/game versions and find on that the audience can identify with, and with one look they can see, ‘It’s Sheryl Nome!’

I have worked with all sorts of materials like glitter glue, craft foam, acrylic to make wands, swords and hairclips.

I next look for colours, the colour needs to be true. The fabric of the costume, is it leather? Felt, satin or organza? The details that come with the costume like accessories and little decoration like embroidery or tattoos are important too.

Witcast: How many conventions do you normally attend and how selective are you? Among all events, which has been the most memorable?

PJ: Annually, one or two, mainly because I am too busy. Cosfest, EOY are the major cosplay events, STGCC and AFA are fun too, occasionally I will appear at cosplay challenge too. All are memorable, but EOY 2013 and 2008 are the most memorable. For 2013 I was featured on newspapers and 2008 was the first time I did cosplay and my performance won 2nd prize.

Witcast: Do you think there will be an increase in the number of cosplayers in Singapore and why?

PJ: Dunno, don care!

Witcast: Is this just a young people "in-thing"? Or anyone, be it the old or young can take part in?

PJ: When my kid is born I will make her a Sailor moon costume for her first birthday.

ANYONE can choose to take part, I mean it.

Witcast: Does your friends and family know about your hobby as a Cosplayer? Will you encourage your friends and family to take part?

PJ: Yes they know. Yes, if they mind having some fun too I would invite them to take part. My younger sister and mother are my helper/accomplice already. Now I am poaching my husband.

Witcast: What will be your message to people who loves to cosplay but are afraid of the public view on them?

PJ: Don’t care about what other people think, do what you like, you are only young once! So live your dreams, try something new, let other people say what they want. The tongue is theirs, your life belongs to you.

Witcast: Whats the biggest takeaway?

PJ: I get very artistic friends! Haha, and getting to know some of the best people in the circle, like the head of EOY, owner of Haru house, Bon Japan Café etc. Most importantly it adds a little colour to one’s life.

Interesting interview, something out of the norm for us, plain citizens who has no special power like the sailor moon. We hope Peijing don't represent the moon and punish us.
